On 16 February 2025, an Essex Terminal Railway Company maintenance-of-way employee was clearing snow from a switch in Ojibway Yard when he was struck and seriously injured by two rolling tank cars that had been kicked in his direction during switching operations.
On 2 February 2025, a Canadian National (CN) freight train was travelling west through the town of Emo, Ontario, when 14 hopper cars loaded with fertilizer derailed.
Ten cars were derailed on their side and the other four remained upright. No dangerous goods were involved, and no injuries were reported. The TSB is investigating.
