Investigation report: Runway overrun at Pikangikum Airport, Ontario

Winnipeg, Manitoba,  — 

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (A23C0081) into the runway overrun involving a Cessna 208B aircraft, operated by Superior Airways Limited, that occurred on September 12, 2023 at the Pikangikum Airport, Ontario.

The TSB conducted a limited-scope, class 4 investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues. See the Policy on Occurrence Classification for more information.


The TSB is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline, and rail transportation occurrences. Its sole aim is the advancement of transportation safety. It is not the function of the Board to assign fault or determine civil or criminal liability.
