Green Procurement

As of April 1, 2014, the Government of Canada will continue to take action to embed environmental considerations into public procurement, in accordance with the federal Policy on Green Procurement.

Departmental approach to further the implementation of the Policy on Green Procurement in place. Yes. The TSB's approach to implementing green procurement is to target the use of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) procurement instruments, the delivery of training to key personnel and the inclusion of green procurement objectives in the employee performance evaluation of the functional head of procurement and materiel management.

Strategic environmental assessments

The TSB’s mandate is to advance transportation safety through the conduct of independent investigations into selected occurrences in the air, marine, rail and pipeline transportation modes. Given its mandate, the TSB does not have plans, programs or policies subject to strategic environmental assessments.
